Hey folks, starting a thread with a theme.......'What's wrong with this picture?'
Rules are new post can't be posted until previous one solved.
Here is a pic from a recent engine overhaul. This rocker assembly is as removed from a zero kilometer 1915cc engine recently purchased.........any idea's ....(apart from the obviously removed for inspection 2 rockers and associated clips and washers)

Old used parts spray painted silver for a "rattle can reconditioning"! These definitely shouldn't have paint on which can flake off and clog the oil system or circulate to the bearings.
Your close guy's, the silver look isn't paint though, think bead blasting....

What? The shaft was sandblasted fully-assembled? That doesn't sound like a sane thing to do!

That's pretty ridiculous. I can't imagine why someone would do that. The diminishing price of home sandblasting cabinets has caused them to fall into the hands of people who don't really think before using them! I have a mate who owns a huge blasting cabinet actually, and he uses it on everything, even if it only really needs a good wipe with some solvent on a rag. Everything from gearbox casings to stainless trim pieces! Although the intention with the trim is to paint them black so he's not a complete loony... :P
Since I won I will contribute a new picture for you to ponder...
What's wrong with this picture?
The white object in the middle is not a VW?

Correct, although it's a Niki 650, which is kind of like a Beetle but much worse! Rear engine, air cooled two cylinder with swingaxles on a 4 speed box, but the swingaxles are already in positive camber at normal ride height and they run a transverse leaf spring at the front so the handling is usually diabolical...
There are many more things wrong with the picture though. Anyway, it's only a joke picture whilst someone comes up with a proper VW related one! 🙂
Wooden window insert in house? bit hard to see through??
Adventure Before Dimentia
You wouldnt catch me standing near that fiat, only a matter of time before it falls off those tyres
not to mention its too wide for the trailer

Well even if it did fall, a stripped Niki shell is pretty light. We actually lifted it on there with only three people! The tyres were an invaluable aid to hold one end up whilst we hoisted the other end on. It did eventually get all the way onto the trailer and was taken to it's new home.
Here it is being unloaded:
We didn't actually intend to chuck it off the trailer, we were trying to lift it off and it just sort of slipped. As you can see, safety was paramount throughout the whole operation.
Now, I think we're well and truly finished talking about terrible cars from Communist Poland, so does anyone have a VW picture for us?
