Can anyone tell where I can get a decent harness for a '68 beetle and what I would expect to pay for one?
Thanks

where are You located??????
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
the original loom could be too contaminated to solder etc...
depending on where its been the past 40 odd years...

I prefer to use all new wiring...

there was a company in brisbane who did wiring harnesses...
They are Expensive when using the original colored wire...

My Son bought a Left hand Wiring Harness for His Kombi...
from the USA...
I'm hoping its as easy to fit a RHD as He is saying... lol

I'm not expecting the original harness to be useable as the wiring is the one colour from being painted and it is a baja after all. Maybe I just need to buy lots of wire and make my own harness then!

Lo/Hi Beam - parking/ blinker/ LHS use 5 core trailer wire and use 5th wire as an earth...

dash to battery - starter - Alternator or Generator large 6mm wires...

dash wires - blinker - Hi Lo relay - electric pump - alarm -

i had the same concern... Till everyone said to clean up the old loom.

Some turps or even metho on a rag and the overspray came right off! Paint doesn't like the plastic of the wire heat shrink much and comes off easy. take it all out and give it a good rub down. 👍
