Keep your copies because the registration authorities don't swap records between states.6 months after selling my father in laws car he got a speeding ticket in QLD even though the transfer paperwork had been done on the day of the sale.The lady at the RTA was no help and wouldn't even give a copy of the transfer that she had on her screen.From there it became statutory declarations,death certificates,so save yourself some heartache and do the above. Also physically check that the VIN and engine numbers are correct.Pollywaffle wrote:You and the buyer will fill out the RTA rego paper, the bottom of that paper is torn off (I can't remember who keeps that part but it says on the form).
