pretty sure a standard 70's lid would fit

Just get a late 4 slot lid

Yes
that is a 68 [circa] deck lid..

You can fit a 70> deck lid with 2 vents or later models with the 4 sets of vents...

they all fit ..
including those off supers 1302 2 vents and 1303 with 4 vents.

A vented lid will look out of place on an oval but seeing as it already has a bulgy 75 valance, late bumpers and lights it shouldn't matter much.

If you have a 1600 or bigger engine it needs the vents there so a 4 vent lid is better.

thanks Joel but I think it'll look a little less out of place than a whale tail? it has a 1500 motor , maybe further down the track i'll go to the trouble of changing the valance etc but not for a while. Ive seen a number of oval beetles on the net where they have vented the original decklid. I thought the vents might serve a purpose and yeh shes a hybrid but I'm happy with her, it would be a boring world if we were all the same

The oval convertible deck lid had vents

People use them for exrtra cooling.
Original ones are few and far between here in Oz
