I got rid of the winders altogether and got a set out of a jap car with the right stroke, they were curved so i straightened them out, made a set of door trims in aluminium and made a aluminium centre consul with the switches for the door locks and starter button

I bought a kit which looks similar to the one on the article but after some time the plastic parts started slipping and it didn't work properly. I got motors from a renault clio and welded the one face onto where the Beetle's crank used to be. Used the same wiring and buttons tthat were supplied with the kit. Did the same setup on my Kombi but the RHS is a bit slow now (probably lack of use, it's a LHD ).
