Hi All,

Just got my first beetle... (well i rescued it from being scraped). Its a very rusty 69 beetle. I hope to do all (or most) of the repairs on it, so its going to be a very long project. Well at least its not going to be junked...

Also the first time I am going to restore a car (this badly rusted). So I will be asking a lot of questions, looks like there are quite a few knowledgeable members on this forum.

I have a 68 if you need to check anything out for yours. I am also doing a pan off resto (also my first), so look forward to sharing the journey via computer. 🤪
Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car. Oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car. Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall. Torque is how far you take the wall with you.

68Volkaru - great to see another VW guy close to home.

I have changed my plan slightly. Because the body was rather extremely rusted, I have purchased a 67 beetle body in much better condition and plan to put the 67 body on the 69 pan 😎

So the looks of the 67 with the disk brakes and newer bits of the 69.

Lots of 67 and 69 bits and bobs to source…🤪 and need to buy a welder.

I have a UniMig 190 MTS your welcome to come and have a go of. Got it from the WORLD famous Fisher Discount yearly sale last year. Good little welder. I see they have a Mig only 180 for approx $350. Be a good buy.
