Bright Green paint in good condition & has good shine, even though the paint is about 10 years old. few stone chips , scratches & marks from 10 years of use.
- Rust needs welding in LHF inner guard as you can see in the pics.
The front of the pillar looks fine, just the back where it meets the inner guard.
Has had a plate welded in before, now needs a bigger one. Floorpan & rest of body is very solid.
Small bubbles around bonnet rubber, & above LH door in gutter.
In 18 months it has not gotten worse.
Also some small bubbles at bottom of LH door.
- 1300 single port motor runs well, has very little end play, has electronic ignition, & had flywheel replaced last year as starter was skipping.
Does blow a puff of smoke when parked downhill, but is fine on flat ground.
Has oil leaking from the push rod tubes which will need fixing for RWC. Converted to 12 volt.
Has hot dog exhaust.
- Drives well, although the shocks are pretty soft .
Gearbox works well, aside from the usual 2nd gear synchro being temperamental. Brakes work well, steering is fine.
tyres are all decent tread.
- Interior was originally light blue but was vinyl painted light green .
Back seat & passenger seat is in good nick, but stitching is coming apart on top of backrests of drivers front seat.
Has seat covers on front seats to hide this.Headlining has been painted over & patched but still has some holes & tears.
CD player works well, though speakers are pretty small.
- I bought it with the intention of tidying up the few spots on the body & & enjoying, but have hardly used it at all in the last couple of months & am inheriting another beetle from the family very soon.
- Due to it needing some work for RWC (although I haven't taken it for a RWC pretty sure it will need some work) it willl be sold unreg with no RWC.
Rego ran out on 4th July 2012.
