Hi guys,
I always meant to be go along to a vw drag racing back in the UK but never got around to it before moving out here!
I was wondering whether there is a drag racing venue/event in the Melbourne area to pop along to and see some vw's going down the strip!!!

Get in touch with Barry Cripps (essex on here) There are a few of the melbourne guys going for a run at heathcoat in the next rew weeks
if you find out a date post it up. 😎
Cool is in the eye of the beholder.🤘
After the the Sydney rain out, a few of us vics were talking about a get together at Heathcote.
Its the only 1/4 mile drags in Vic, atm.
The next TNT I'm thinking is Sunday 21 st. July.
They run them every fortnight, theres one on this Sunday, 7th, but the weather looks no good. (couldn't handle 2 wet weekends in a row!)
We'll put the word out & your welcome to give us a call if you want,
cheers

Doesn't Dandenong have racing about this time of year?
😁
no, nothing at Dandenong, not on a track anyway....
There's talk of something happening at Calder,
The Gringos were going to give tomorrows TNT @ Heathcote a go, but unfortunately its been rained off.
Weather permitting, I'm looking at Marsh Rodders Drag Day, again @ Heathcote Saturday 3rd. August.
Gringo's are talking of going too.
Anyone else interested should reply to this post.
cheers
Are you going to that one Barry?

Yep Dave, hoping to go that one, they get about 100 cars or so, hope weather holds out.
There will be for the first time in years an ANDRA drag meeting at Calder Park in October
19 October 2013 Calder Park, Melbourne
Top Fuel Round 10, Top Bike Round 7, Pro Stock Motorcycle Round 6
Clarly this is a limited card for the event but it will at least have the Top Fuelers giving bang for your buck so to speak.
And weirdly given the bike bias on the card, it clashes with the MotoGP at Phillip !!
Cheers
74 SuperBug
other stuff
94 Caravelle
78 Passat
70 Kombi (first car I ever sold in one piece)
74 Golf (which I t-boned into Nun!)
70 Beetle (mustard bugger which I tried to kill)
68 Beetle preceded by a series of 6v crash test vehicles 😬
It's official – ANDRA Championship Drag Racing is returning to Calder Park Raceway.
In front of a packed house of Victorian ANDRA club members, CEO Malcolm Bulley delivered the news that all racers and fans were hoping to hear, drag racing is back in Melbourne, the sporting capital of Australia.
Calders back, apparently,
from their fb page;
Please note these dates should be used as a guide only and may change closer to the event.
September 27 - ANDRA Street Meet
October 4 - Street Meeting and ANDRA Licence Testing
October 13 - ANDRA Street Meet and Test and Tune
October 19 - Fuchs Nitro Thunder presented by Crow Cams, ANDRA Drag Racing Series featuring Top Fuel, Top Bike and Pro Stock Motorcycle
October 25 - ANDRA Street Meeting
November 8 - ANDRA Street Meeting
November 22 - ANDRA Street Meeting
December 8 - ANDRA Street Meeting and Test and Tune
Its on! this Saturday 19th.October, Top fuel including full race program at Calder.
I'm thinking of giving the race car a run at Calder on 22nd of November, it's a friday night street meet so will proberbly leave straight from work. I haven't raced at Calder park for years but I have been told the street meets are really good now.
Might see you there Michael,
Calder Park FB post;
"We have received great interest from a heap of Victorian Racers testing next Saturday 21st, ranging from Supercharged altereds, Pro Stock Motorcycles, Supercharged Outlaws etc, etc.
So dont be left out or MISS OUT! Gates open 11am, racing from 1 – 7pm.
Last racing event for the year, who is up for it? "
Sounds good!
Barry is that a race meet?
Bit confusing, its definetly not a race meet, its either an ANDRA TNT or street meet.
Hope your feeling better.
Thinking about this one, Gringos also,
