You couldn't be more wrong. I speak from experience. Organising far larger events with more drag cars, and even with more than one day of racing has shown that neither the racers, car show-ers or spectators are truly satisfied...fish26 wrote:Having the Nationals combined with Drag and Circuit racing at THE ONE LOCATION over a weekend makes the most sense by far.

Each detracts attention from the other. The car show will never be more than a side show to the racing. Even holding the show n' shine after the end of racing, still gets less attention than it deserves.
Even if the events are held on successive days, one or the other will suffer. A big day at the races means a lot of people won't bother to front a second day for another event.
The best thing for both events is to have them spread apart. There is more chance of people supporting them and enjoying them, meaning they will come back again next time.

Small event thinking, will always produce small events.

Yep...I voted Brendan...but this was purely a racing decision. Fast fours and rotaries...Where do bikes and V8s belong in this mix. My point was that it doesn't hurt to have something else to lure people through the gate...if fooly sic sub woofers and shiny cars do this great, does it mean I get less racing as a result...not in this case...bikes and V8s...yesLIFE IN THE LOW LANE wrote:Stanley even the jambo is going back to a one day format as of this year from what I've read. I enjoyed giving my Hillclimb Bug a blast down the 1/4 mile, although as I suspected, my Hillclimb specific gearing isn,t to drag friendly.
My best time was a 13.4 sec pass, here is an in car of my solo pass.
Cheers Col

Really ran out of ratio in the top end, as you say.
What was the speed?
Looks like most cars ran as good as they could
given the conditions.
Glad the weather held out for everyone!
