Sorry to hear that Geri is gone... :-(
Greebo is an indoor cat who liked to go out and watch. In April this year, she watched me get into my car from the gutter of the road, and a total dickhead in a Commodore collected her. He must have aimed for her, because this is a three near four lane wide street (ie cars can be parked both sides and still let two cars pass if they're careful about it). I thought she was totally skittled when I saw her tumbling on the road, twisting like a mad thing.
Anyway, I rushed her to the emergency vet... I am so glad that the speed cameras hadn't been fitted to the Western Ring Road at that time... I would have gladly given up my license for Greebo being alive though. Luckily, she got there in time, and a few operations later, she's nearly as good as new. She has a metal rod for a femur in one of her legs.
Now she hates being outside and soon, when she's living with me again, she wont have to be.

Doug, my mother-in-law breeds Jack Russells and she gets the occasion odd-sized one, but 18" tall is huge!!!
Jay, we're waiting... I thought you might have got on the bandwagon a bit earlier!
Bronze, sorry to hear about Geri. We lost a cat about a month ago. I have no idea what happened to her, but there has been a lot of shooting going on around the farm lately, thanks to the bounty on foxes. I guess I don't really want to know either. Photo below.
Andrew, glad to hear Greebo is doing well. When we lived in Morwell we had a cat get bowled over on the road, but unfortunately he was dead when I picked him up. Its never easy losing a pet, they really do become part of the family.

I forgot the photo...

Here's our latest new resident. He/she was extremely wet and bedraggled and unable to fly. I wouldn't have bothered catching it except it was being picked on by a pair of adult magpies. No, I don't believe they were its parents. I've let it dry out in the chook shed and let it go already.

Jen came down for a couple of days, but when we got back from out VW hunt on Thursday, we discovered that bunny had escaped and we were inable to find him in the dark.
This was not the best news as I'd just spent $200 on fencing materials while we were out!! Fortunately bunny appeared less than 100 metres from the house the next morning. It appears he may have taken lodging in the disused dairy we have near the house.
Thanks to Jen's help, we now have a brand-new bunny fence erected, so he can play outside all day without us having to worry about him.
We did find a few VW's for sale, but I'll post these elsewhere. Here's a pic of the new bunny fence. I still have to attend to a few details, but it keeps bunny in and the dog out.

Jen and I currently have:
4 Mini Horses from 25" to 31"
1 Mini Pig
4 Guinea Pigs
6 Choocks
2 dogs
1 lamb
1 cat
heaps of birds and fish
If you look real close at the below picture you will see Apples and Angle, 2 of our horses. You can also see my new Deck which now looks a little more finished.
Wow these pets pics and the stories are amazing.Sorry about Geri the Houdini cat
That Jack Russell has been eating too much chicken, the growth hormones kicked in 🙂
Col you have a magpie now :o
and I hope Bunny hasn't found an escape route out of that brilliant enclosure 😉
Bob gave me a big barking welcome home from 'Sunny Gippsland' yesterday 😀
Wow, Brad has quite the menagerie!!
The bunny has found several escape routes. Heather caught him in the yard just as he was trying to escape via the gap under the side gate again! (probably trying to get back to those greener pastures). Yes the fence is finished (sort of), it's amazing how handy tent pegs can be!!😀
Speaking of menageries, when I was a kid we had: chooks, ducks, guinea pigs, dogs, two magpies, a corella, a cockatoo, a galah (called Malcolm {Fraser}), budgies, love birds, cats, tropical fish, gold fish, marine fish, a fruit bat and a wallaby joey that we reared for its first year. We never had rabbits though, until now...
While I'm on the topic, I'm trying to decide on a name for the little fella. Suggestions please?

Yeah we miss Geri but he was getting a bit ferral with the kids. Here are a couple (of the better) pics of the fish.
When we move into a house with a yard and have a lifestyle that has time for pets then we hope to get another cat and two dogs. One will be a Malamute, Huskie or Samoyd X Shepard (Long story) and I personally want an Alpine Dingo which has just been classified as a registerable dog and is being bred in Northern Victoria somewhere. Saw it on 4 Corners I think.
It's great seeing everyones pets (and homes). Makes the community more personal. Helps me to remember your names better too.
The Bronze.
(Can't get the fish pics to upload so just imagine fish swimming around. Thanks)

Rathmines, Lake Macquarie, NSW.
There's a place near Castlemaine that breeds dingos, I went there about a year ago. Maybe that's the one?

Here is Sasa our Hungarian Viszla pup. She is now 4 months old (pic was when she was 2 months). Lots of energy....quite a handful!

The Worm Swami isn't bad either, hehehe
I'm sorry, getting sicker every day
🙁
Going to have to classify two wild ducks as pets and get a pic of them.
They have been returning to our pool every winter for the past couple of years. This year they have really settled in. I can see them from where I'm sitting. They usually stay on the other side of the fence but one just had a wander about the yard. Before that one took of into the air about 15 feet, did a sharp turn and dive bombed into the pool, so cool
🙂
(contented quacking sounds enter the room, Jen smiles)
My frogs have been very quiet lately, I think they may have been dinner
🙁

Here's our Scottish West Highland White Terrier ... My wife used to get BMW's confused with Mercedes ... and call them McBeema's ... So when the dog came along we named it that ...
Go Noddy the Notch ~ One day the Oval will ride again
Surely if you own german machines the only pet is a Dachshund or other german breeds will post my dachie when i learn to put down to right size
[Edited on 15-10-2002 by mhbourke]
You hardly see Dachshunds now. We used to have two of them when I was a kid and my dad had a Type 3 Squareback 🙂
McBeema is cute
Dang, thought people might get annoyed with too many pet pics on the same post, perhaps I shouldn't have had a separate thread and kept them in here, oh well 🙁
But them here as well?🙂
Okies migrating them in here 🙂
(1) Spot - 4 years old - no we didn't name her, picked her up from a family that could no longer keep her but decided we wouldn't change her name..
(2) Widget - 2 years old - named from a cross between a wriggler and a fidget...

(9) Amy and Lily...
I love this thread.😀 I don't know about the forum admin, but I can't see any problem with having too many pictures in one thread; sure its slow to load, but I only load the last page of the thread anyway, now that I've read the others. I figure that with my (slow) connection, if I can load them, anybody can.
Silkworms would have to be the most unusual pet I've seen so far, very cool! :o:thumb
