I thought it would be interesting to find out what we all had as our first car - how many of us started out with VW ?
Mine was a 1979 Toyota Corolla Coupe...nothing more to add other than it was red with a white racing stripe down the side !!:P
mine was a 1971 superbug which wasnt registered and i got it for free....after thrashing that around in paddocks i got into this forum and VW's and bought my 1962 baja bug. which is my car now and my first registered car.
62/60 model bug eye baja bug, (Full Build in Progress)

THe MC Bat Commander's motto: "Never do now, what you could do for 24 hours straight, all night, the night before."
my first car is the one im driving now... a 68 beetle. I only got it because i work nights and its a bit dodgy walking from work to get public transport at night. Otherwise id still be using my feet like i do most other times🙂
in a few months i will have had it for 2 years, and driven it a grand total of about 12000miles in that time 😀
in the beginning, the universe was created.
this made alot of people very angry and is widely regarded as a bad move.
My first registered car was and still is my metallic green 1969 1500 beetle
A Mk2 Escort in England. It had a cherry bomb exhaust and Ghia trim. Bought for £400, sold for 2 years later £400!

I have no sympathy for my car, only the wallet that pays for it!
Go hard or go home!!!!
My first car was a beetle, a 59 i think, was given to us in very poor condition, it had a plastic bag for an oil cap. unfortunatly it didnt last through my learners and as my parents would have had to pay to fix it up they didnt think it was worth fixing so they sold it to a friend for $200 and then they bought me a mitsubishi colt which i had for 2 years, thern went to a magna which i had for 9 months, then a susuki sierra soft top which i had for 9 months then bought a mitsubishu galant which i still drive and i now have my 1970 beetle which we are fixing up and all i can say is its about time

mine was a 1968 HK Monaro
some people are like slinky's
they have no useful purpose
but they are fun to watch
when you push them down the stairs
A yellow '76 1600 tp beetle, that is probably still driving around Bris at the moment. It was my brothers then I bought it. had dark tinted windows, sheepskin seat covers and went really well. There were no vents behind the rear side windows after I got sick of having rust cut out of there.
Then went to a toyota 4runner, then my Subie, which will hopefully share the honours with the '56 when it gets up and going 🙂

My first car was a 71 red beetle, got it from Dad and paid him for it later. Tinted windows, it was cool. But I grew and needed something bigger, so it made way for the 76 Kombi. Sigh. Funnily enough my Kombi looked identical to the one above belonging to Blue Bus, but we've already chatted and that one ain't it....
The red 71 used to live around Strathpine (nth side of Brissy), would love to see it again one day....

71 or 72 (I think) Passat. I nearly killed the poor thing. It was the perfect first car: gutless and forgiving. I really miss it sometimes, but it got really bad cancer from living on te coast.
Coolest colour: Flipper Blue

Now have a 1976 Beetle Cabriolet. I loved the Ghia the most, but the Cab grows on me more everyday [especially with my future plans for it].
Squiz....
65 Datsun Bluebird station wagon...... and my father managed to roll it.
