It definitely should have one to prevent hot air from the exhaust recirculating into the engine bay. I have no idea what it is called though, sorry.

I think it's called a skirt ?
may be mistaken tho
Everyone needs something to belive in !
I belive i shall have a beer !
These are Type 1 motors. Your engine bay will look different if you have a Type IV motor as it takes up more of the engine bay.
not sure if it's type 4..
it's a 1600... 1974
I have got the surround that is in two parts that goes around the motor, but not this skirt.

Are you talking about the rear valance?
You'll need that to seal the engine bay and also for the engine lid to close onto.

yours should be different to this. a 74 from australia has different tinware to that, and the rear piece doesnt bolt in. Looking at those pics its an earlier model. (different bumpers) maybe 68-72. So long as when you look inside the engine bay you cant see through to the ground or the exhaust then you are OK. I am thinking your engine bay should have the raised section on the left like in this pic. Your engine will be different but that was accomodated by using different tin.
