OK some facts for those like me that don't know a lot about them
A dynamometer or "dyno" for short is a device used to measure power and torque produced by an engine.
The concept is to use a dyno to measure and compare power transfer at different points on a vehicle, thus allowing the engine or drivetrain to be modified to get more efficient power transfer.
The dynamometer applies various loads on the engine and measures the engine's ability to move the load. The dynamometer is connected to a computer which uses math to calculate the output of the engine. The engine is run from idle to its maximum RPM and the output is measured and plotted on a graph. Nearly all aspects of engine operation are measured during a dyno run.
The type of Dyno we are using is a chassis dynamometer measuring power from the engine through the wheels. The vehicle is parked on rollers which the car then turns and the output is measured.

How many runs at the dyno do you get for $35
dunno Kim, its going to be interesting thats for sure. I havent had it professionally tuned yet. Just been replacing various worn out buts and pieces. So getting incrementaly better slowly.
So I reckon it will pull about 80 to 90 hp at the wheels.
See how close I get!!!

It gets a bit busy down there.
BAJA NOW FITTED WITH A FULL FLYING REBUILD
bump....we've had a change of date so that it doesn't clash with the new date for the VWCV Herbie Fully Loaded cruise to Dromana Drive-In
...just bumping so that people can see the date change
Sorry people.... with all the date changes due to the problem with the Herbie Fully Loaded screening the VWCV has not had time to get the updated Dyno Day time out to members
I will let you know as soon as we know the new date...it may be July or August now...
At least it will give a couple of you time to get your rides ready for the day so you don't miss out 😎
please let it be when im down there

thats a good starting point dean, but you want to get it up to three figures just for the poser value!!
haha, sorry, couldnt resist.
i m really looking forward to seeing it, and i d love a ride ... (hint

Sounds good. Just a question, do we get to run our cars on the dyno or do the guys at VW Performance run them?
