The throwout bearing in the centre of the picture is an "A" type bearing and goes with the pressure plate on the left. The pressure plate on the right uses a "B" type throwout bearing, and this is what is needed for the gearbox pictured.....
Does that make any sense?

the throw out bearing also slides over the center spiggot on the gearbox, so it must be greased and fit snug
I read it on FACEBOOK so it must be true

You can get the throwout bearing from any VW parts place, and if you tell them its a "B" type bearing they should know which one. Its to do with the part number....they both have the same part number except for the last digit, one is an "A" and the other is a "B"

Did you see the garden sign on the west end which reads PENRITH. A couple of years back someone re-planted it to read PENRIFF !!

On that clutch, you can also opt for the other model fork and bearing and the only mod is to part off the extended seal cover/guide so that the "normal" A type? and sometimes more readily available pressure plate. Maybe a bush change for the fork shaft as well.
