plate on bottom of shifter?

wich way is this supposed to sit? there is a short and longer ridge (wich sits on left and right) and should these be facing up or down?

The ridges should face up, and the longer one on the drivers side

i had it right, was hoping it was wrong, i can slip into reverse without pushing down? any ideas on what causes that?

Just loosen the bolts and move base to the left a bit and retighten
