The Kafer style bars are finally ready for you to order. Kits can be purchased as a 3 bar or 5 bar, with all parts needed for installation supplied. Price: $295 for the 3 bar Kit, $395 for the 5 bar kit. Postage additional. 3 Bar kit includes: 1. 2 x Longer High Tensile shock bolts 2. 2 x Custom brackets (mounted to the upper shock point, same for 3 and 5 bar kit) 3. 6 x Custom made Clevis joints (3 RH and 3 LH threaded) 4. 1 x Long Aluminium cross bar 5. 2 x Short Aluminium support bars 6. 2 X Weld on brackets *All components are plated and anodised *All bolts,lock and flat washes, LH and RH nuts are supplied 5 Bar Kit includes ALL OF THE ABOVE plus 1. 2 x Short Aluminium support bars (4 in total for the kit) 2. 4 x Custom made Clevis joints (10 in total for the kit) 3. 2 x Weld on brackets (4 in total for the kit) NOW IN STOCK AND READY FOR DELIVERY. thought i should also add im a lazy shit and installed mine without dropping the tranny
with some trick welding its easy as

he hee........i wanted to paint mine flat black until i spotted yours Joel............spose the stainless allen head bolt up grade is now factory issue too :🥲

well, i finally got mine up and in........glad i stuck to the factory colour cause it blends well with my rust background 🙅........if i can fit one of these with all the bonus spaghetti i have rigged up, they should fit anyones beetle.

they are certainly close tollerence engineered ❗......mine was welded in with the box and engine out, which normally would not cause any dramas.......

i couldn't get a couple of the bars to line up with the brackets until i realised that i had not loosened the berg hop bar back off the rear of the motor (this is used to pre load the motor and frame horns up and actually lifts the exhaust collector 15mm towards the body when tightened up)...

......SOOOOO after i did this, the Craig T bars went home and all was tightened up..........the berg bar didn't lift the exhaust collector near as far with the kafer bars now installed, indicating indeed they were doing their job stiffening the frame horns muchly gooderah....nice work Craig ❗

also backing off the curb and guttering out of my driveway, there is NOTICABLY LESS BODY CREAKING, infact there is barely a noise at all which is a far cry from the flexing evident only a few hours before installation...........i figure this increased body stiffness is coming from the two cast shockie towers now being tied together, and the body mounts from them having much less movement.......

Craig, your kit kicks arse i got one but my friend needs one for his oval, but the shock tower mounts are different do you have one to fit this application as he has installed a type 4 engine i built for him and it needs the bar kit for sure.
