My Beetle will stall during the first 5km's of driving when it gets to the low revs when in gear, its fine when bought to idle, it runs well, and I can counteract this stalling by reving it when moving.

What is the problem... it goes when the engine is warmed through...... and how can i fix it?

Yep... all the fuel filters were replaced last year, and she's only driven a few 1000km.......

She's been stalling since we put the engine back into her, she had a cosmetic engine upgrade, so all the easy parts have been replaced... spark leads, fanhousing etc.....

Can anyone work it out???

I'm not familiar with Beetle motors but I believe that they have 4 warmup mechanisms: exhaust heat riser (mentioned above), hot air intake into carb, thermostatically controlled flaps to reduce cooling air when engine is cold and the choke in the carb. Are all of these present and working?
