A few thoughts:
a) The alarm inside the car is a good deterrent, but I would need a clean pair of shorts if it went off accidentally, akin to the good old air-horn-while-your-head-is-under-the-bonnet-trick! i.e. not worth it.
b) this should be a sacred topic, only discussed out in the open in rainstorms.
Don't tell everyone your tricks!!
You may become paranoid next time your precious gets broken into.

c) I had a 15" sub in the back of my L bug, behind the seat. Actually I still have the box if anyone is interested.
To say it pumped was a major understatement. On of my mates nicknamed the car "The finger of God"
2180 with 48's, 4000rpm in 4th off the clock etc. Aah Memories!
