mate has a 54 rag tucked away in his shed went and visited it a year or so ago lovely car.

I met Fharmi and his family in the 1980's (meetings had nothing to do with VW's, at the time,- he was a friend of my aunty) he was just on the tail end of restoring that split. I remember his house had all the living areas covered in impressive large floor tiles and he used to be able to get new release movies on video from the UAE heaps before they were shown on the big screen in Aus.

Wasn't that his collection that got auctioned at Wisemans Ferry a few years a go?

Talking of splits...

Back in 1992, at the Flat Four Vee Dub Club Show.
There was a Dove Blue restored split window Beetle, the car was stunning.
The car took the major prize - Best in Show.

Don't think, I have seen the car since, the 1992 Flat Four Vee Dub Show.
Anyone remember this Split window Beetle?

I may have to search the archives (the old drawer of old photos)

* Oh yeah, I also have a Herschmann Red Tip aerial and a Telefunken radio, unopened in their boxes. Perfect for $3K splitty! Price uhmmm, say a twenty 🙂

I was at that show and I remember that car. I think I have a photo of it somewhere too.
