THE GLASS FITTED INTO THE RUBBER AND THE GLASS BENT WHEN OPENED...

SO, I presume a new rubber and glass would be needed...
it may be special glass...
and the rubber would be special too....

there are no hinges....
glass just bends from the rubber...

I believe only German made type 3 fastbacks had these... ??

Replacement rubbers sometimes available from ISP West. You still need the bendy glass, metal part of frame and the latches.

Thanks guys..i have the model with sealed windows...so iguess i would have to source new glass with the holes..latch and hinges and replace the window rubber for the type thats opens...just wondered if the factory body of the car has the hole for the hinge and latch because i havent removed the liner yet to check.

There are no hinges in the Fasty. The front section of the glass/rubber, about 300mm from memory, is held firm by 4? about m3 screws. The glass flexes out from this point. The bodies of all would most likely have the holes for these screws. Most likely you would need to have a plate fitted for the latch mount in the c pillar. Don't know if they are self tappers or M4 as per Notch for the latch attachment.

Yes the fasty will have the holes needed to fit. not hinge holes, rubber bolts to car 🙂
