Fitting Oil line Thermostat
Hi Guys
I'm fitting the following configuration to the car:
1. Remote Oil Filter (CB Performance)
2. Oil Line Thermostat (CB Performance)
3. External Oil Cooler with suction fan triggered by a thermostatic switch mounted up near the trans.
The Oil line thermostat is an earlier version of the one one their website and only has the words "cold" and "hot" on the it.
So, what is the correct way to install it? Have I got it the wrong way around? Should the OUT of the oil pump be connected to the "hot" side of the
thermostat and the IN of the oil pump be connected to the "cold" of the thermostat?

I have not seen your thermostat but it makes sense that the output of the pump goes to the hot side of the thermostat after the filter, beaware that
the Themostatic switch is not very reliable and does not come on at the same temperature all the time, i have stopped using it and replaced it with a
electronic temperature alarm with a output for the fan, this lets you set the on and off points for the fan at your desired temperature.

Thanks mate. I had a feeling that I had it the wrong way around. I'm going to take some photos of the insides of the thermostat and will post these
just to make certain.
I understand your comment about the thermostatic switch and have connected an indicator light under the dash so that I can check to see when the fan
is being switched on.

Also put the filter on the return back to the engine, that way it sees reduced oil pressure and will be more reliable
Not easy to see and it's on a bus but I'm sure you can get the idea
