Accelerator pedal
Hi
My accelerator has always been a little bit sticky but on the way home tonite it got stuck when i wanted to stop(put it into neutral and accelerted
and it was fine) i was wondering if i could use something like wd40 to make it not so sticky
Any help would be greatly appricated

Check the "hinge" at the bottom of your pedal, the "linkages" under the floor at the front and the "shaft" where it
passes thru the chassis at the front. The big "spring" is still connected in the engine compartment?

I had the same thing hapen to me, but not in traffic, but in the bush. Not so embarrassing in the bush.
Take out the cable from its tube and run a piece of fencing wire up the tube, then tie a piece of cotton rag to the wire. Remember to wire the rag
very well or it could come apart in the tube and that's another problem.
Then pull the wire through the tube to clean out all the gunk. Do this a few times and then cover the cable with Moly grease and it should do another
few decades of service.

Besides the advice above, a fraying cable can give the same symptoms
|
