76 golf gearshift

well girjs and boys i'm having a bit of bother with the gear shift into 1st gear cold it's easy warm it starts to get a bit harder until you really have to give it a savage push
is it a ajustment or a clutch job

Hi

The firewall on that model often fractured where the cable goes through, and old lawn mower blade is a good shape for a repair.

Hi

The plastic bushes wear out a bit on those. Maybe you should talk to Matt @ Camden GTI, he knows all about this stuff.
