Many question....
Hi all,
this is the first time posting on here for me so if i ask stupid CB questions dont be to harsh on me!
I slowly helping my dad restor his country buggy and i know im going to have many question over this period of time!
my first ones are:
1. are the keeper rubbers that hold the windscreen down when folded forward the same as anything else or are they only on CB's and where can i find
them (the dog decided to eat one of them!)
2. the rubber strap that holds the tray down over the battery (pretty much the same question as above!)
3. off what year and model can i get the splash guards that bolt an to the engine and meet up with the body?
4. One of the previous owners hacked out the back arches many years ago to fit large wheels and we want to return it back to orig. If someone could
spare the time i need to know (a sketch would be great) some refrence points for making the new arches like from the top of the arch to the top of the
panel, back of the arch to the back of the panel any info you could give would be great!
If you can help with any of these answers i will be very greatfull!

more info.
Hi mate,
It would be a big help to know where you are, as there may be a country buggy nearby that you can use for reference. If you live in Brissie you are
more than welcome to look at mine.
As for the rubbers there has been a few posts on here about them so just have a surf around..
I am sure people will ask, so what is the KO number of the vehicle and any pics of the resto todate.
Good luck with it.

Hi Bigcal
You are at the correct place. One of the threads about the rubbers is http://forums.aussieveedubbers.com/viewtopic.php?tid=76303
The battery hold down, and most of the small parts, are pre 68 beetle, type 3 or kombi parts.
Parts bok says:-
Item 29 is 311 915 303 Mounting Strap – Battery
Item 30 is 113 915 305 Mounting Strap With Fastener – Battery
Country Buggy Bill (Moore) sells an literature pack that include a parts book etc. Well worth the nominal cost.
Email me and I’ll send you my list including all the parts info I’ve found out so far, save you some trouble.
The tinware around the engine is made up of some special stuff and / or early stuff because the CB has no heater system etc so many of the holes are
not there. Also the CB uses a crank handle so the breast plate is early Kombi etc. You’ll figure it all out.
Good to have you here, ask anything you want. Good luck with the project.
Tony

I may have missed what you said there. By “battery cover” do you mean the cargo deck area that lifts up behind the seats? The rubber strap that
holds mine down doesn’t seem to be listed in the parts book, although there is a bit in the accessory rear seat area, and I wasn’t sure if it was
originally supplied with the CB. Mine has a beetle rear seat strap and hook to stop the rear deck bouncing.
It’s could be this http://www2.cip1.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=C16-113-583S
But probably this http://www2.cip1.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=C16-113-583L
Don’t know what the difference is? They look the same in the pictures, perhaps someone can tell me the difference.
The hook is http://www2.cip1.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=VWC-111-885-561
And the retaining plate for the rubber is http://www2.cip1.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=C16-111-589
Hope that’s of help. Nice CB by the way, you’ve got all the good bits there, and it’s very straight. Wish mine was.
Cheers
Tony

Glad to be of help.
If the old bit or rubber has a part number on it can you let me know what it is please. May be able to work out which one of the 2 they originally
used. Mine is just the broken off end bit now.
