EJ22 Conversion Manual
Hi Guys,
Just trying to guage what sort of interest there is out there for am EJ 22 Conversion manual. It basically outlines everything you nned to do to
put an EJ22 into a bay window kombi / beetle / buggy / T3.
Funnily enough it suggests using Custom Offroad Conversion parts but that is to be expected :blush
So if we were to offer them for sale at say $49 do you think we would sell them ?
I am aware people could just copy it but I would hope they wouldn't to support the tim eit would take to write.
So what say the masses ?

Ill put an order in if it goes ahead.
Most of my interest is in the Kombi.
There couldnt really be too much difference in the installation details between any of the ej series. So it could proove a useful guide for other
installs.

Brad,
I think you would get a reasonable take up of this.
As an incentive, why not offer it for free with $xxxx of parts that a customer buys from you?
Would you go in to details re the wiring harness interfaces?
Andy.

put vouchers in it for 10% off each part, be worth someone buying the book and encourage ppl to buy from you. Someone would copy it, but not get the
discount. Would be worth your time 'cause it would encourage ppl to do stuff (like the complaet idiot book) and stop the ongoing phone calls
'uummmmmm brad what do I do about.....' RTFM lololololol

Brad,
Very good idea.
If you put a wiring diagram and details on wire lengths and details of connectors and ECU pinout etc, I think $49 would be an excellent price. I
presume you have seen the Kennedy Enginnered Products Instructions and their Wiring Diagram? The diagram in full size. Together they are excellent
and could possibly make your effort redundant .
Still, what you have to offer and what is available locally in terms of mods etc would be a bit different from what is available in California.
Good luck with it
Dave

Ive wasted heaps on my conversion..trial and error. Any one thinking of doing it would be mad not to for $49.
I'll get one also...the incentive scheme, discounts whatever is a good idea too.

mmm thatnks for the reponses. I will give it some more thought. It is a funny position on one side you think yeah get it out there and then on the
other side you think nah keep it in my pocket and make others waste their time sorting it out ....
At this stage my plan is to sell them to people and just ask then nicely to respect the time and effort that has gone into it and not copy it. Should
be interesting to see what happens.
The manual covers in no particular order:
Parts list of what is required
Wiring info and fault codes
Fault code and problem id
Common problem and fixes
Servicing information and schedules
General EJ engine info and diagrams
It focuses on the EJ 22 but will have some info on the EJ20T and EJ25. It has no info on aftermarket ECU's and is aimed at the home handy man doing
the conversion. Some of the info is aimed at using our wiring looms and is specific to them.
The should be availible in 1st release form by the end of the month and will not be availible in soft copy.
Now I just need to find a few spare minutes to write all the stuff that is needed to make it work. If anyone has any articles / info / diagrams then
feel free to email them to me at brad@customoffroad.com.au
Cheers,

releasing the book.
Current Problems:
The shortened sump leaks.
The throttle body inverter pointed 15deg up making the intake hit the fiberglass.
The coilover shock springs rub on the diagonal arm.
Not having a go or anything, but my conversion went perfectly except for the above dramas. It also took nearly 3 months to get everything after
ordering, many $$ spent on phonecalls chasing them up.. And originally i was told it would be only a 1-2 weeks turnaround.

Firstly it would be nice to know these things and maybe be told in some other way than on a public forum.
- Sumps are pressure tested so I am confussed as to where it leaks
- Invertors are suppose to be 15 degrees and clear supa sports, manx's, beetles, kombi's .. as for a Rat I can honestly say you are the only person
I know with one and this is the first I have heard of it.
- We have sold hundreds of pairs of Coil over shocks. I have some on my car here and they clear fine. I am unsure why yours would be any different.
- Customer service , we take that one on board and are working to sort it out. Just to many balls in the air and we occasionally drop some.
- RETURNS POLICY ... if you are not 100 % happy with the product then our policy is simple return it for a FULL REFUND but for that you would need to
actually contact us and send the items. I will even throw in $50 to cover your hassle and phone calls.
Only thing I ask is that you show the common descency to contact us direct and let us try and rectify it instead of posting up here.
Do you think that sounds fair ??
