getting the 915gearbox to fit 75mm forward

all the clearencing done ,at lease 5mm gap around the gearbox .
a couple more gussets at the bottom to go in.

torsion tubes in place ,they wont be welded in until the 40tooth splines are in place and then they will only be tacked in until I finish the front end .5mm needs to be shaved off the inside of the tubes.

so should i decide to go for one it will make my job a hell of a lot easier.

if you don,t move the gearbox forward its alot easier .if you move it forward and leave the torsion bars & tubes in the same position a little bit harder ,but going 75mm forward & raising the torsion tube 60mm higher it is a head F@#K.

I like what you are doing here. looks like you have it licked.
I have done a conversion to suit a Un-5 into a bug... But I went to coil shocks as I found it much easier. Sorry but I don't have any Photo's but I wish I did now. I will be following this with a huge interest.

I looked at that Renault trans some years ago...very strong,
but that 5.8 diff was no good for my games.
Albins makes gears I think.

I know Chris is aware of this fact .

The UN5 crown wheel / pinion is only ( just about ( aprox ) 15mm longer ( wider ) than the kombi crown wheel & pinion

when talking to the experts , this is realy the only point saving the gear box from going bang .

I think Chris would agree with me here .

I was very impressed with Chries buggy over the weekend that SR20 motor goes very well .

Looking for that special lady : PM me for coffee & cake
