Those poor old Gooses eh? They are getting old.
I didn’t realise these things had a gearbox, I’ve never seen one, only pictures of then in cars, half hidden. Tell us the story then Bill.

All you need now is a 'three-point-linkage', Bill.
That PTO will come in handy.............even if you never use it.

Well done to all who recognised this as the PTO unit for a CB. Its one of the missing options that has now come into my possession.
Its a great story. For 15 years I have searched for the PTO and finaly found one some 8 years ago on the back of a CB in Perth. No amount of cash
could separate the PTO from the CB in those days. The vehicle was then purchased by an enthusiast who moved to NSW some 3 years ago. He and I had been
in discussion re the PTO and a suitable purchase price since then. About two months ago we reached agreement on a deal and the unit came into my
possession. Many thanks to both Andy and Steve for making this happen.
I needed the flexible drive shaft for the PTO so called on the original manufacturer ( 45 years ago) and they had a guy who had worked there over 45
years who remembered the units. In fact not only that but they still had one NOS unit up in their junkyard which they offered to me if I was
interested.
Bugger me, now I was the owner of two PTO units in the space of two weeks.
One had cost me a motza and the other one peanuts
They also agred they would make up the flexible drive shaft to attach to the unit.
Before anyone gets excited the second unit has been spoken for and is to go to a fellow CB eccentric who lives in the Mallee in Victoria. Its going to
a farm property, just where it belongs.
Attached are a couple of photos of the NOS unit which I slotted into the back of my CB. It still needs fixing in place, the double crankshaft pulley
and the flexible hose to make it a working PTO but that is getting closer.
Now I need another CB Challenge so I am taking on the task of locating one of the front towing eye brackets for the CB which is listed as an option
but I have never seen one yet.
One day, I might be able to say I have seen all of the options and have them on my vehicle.
Good things come to those who wait
