Any Mk2 Golf owners in Oz?

Hey guys and girls,

Having recently joined this forum, would just like to say 'hi' to all :)
I recently purchased a Mk2 Golf, and have been looking for some bits and pieces for it, but its proving to be harder than I thought!
I wanted to know if there were any other Mk2 Golf owners in Australia, and if so, where do you get your parts from?

Thanks in advance! :)

Dino.

I have sent them an email. There have got to be at least a few Mk2 Golf owners on here?

I've seen a few mk2 golf driving around, don't know how many are on here though.

For parts, there is lots available in the UK, as they are very popular there. Check out a british VW mag for suppliers.

Ooh, suits you sir!

they didn't officially import mark 2s to oz did they?
hence their rareness
i think there was a golf break between 1980 and the early 90s

Mk2s wre officially imported in the late eighties till 92. We only got the 5-door SOHC GTi. I've got a really nice white 92, 16" alloys, M3 style lights, alloy golf ball knob etc.
GTi imports are good to deal with. Have also got some stuff over net from UK no dramas. I also have a 59 and 62 beetles so I'm on both sides of the fence! GTi will be for sale in nov. or sooner if anyone keen. You certainly don't see many on the road though.

Thanks guys! :) Having previously owned 2 x Mk1's, when this Mk2 came up for sale I snapped it up! :)
Being an early model Mk2, it still has the small bumpers, so initially i'm after a set of the late model big bumpers with driving lights in the bar like this one :

Jettaboy - thanks, will give him a call!

Deluxe - '92 huh? nice! Whats your email addy?
Also, what companies did you deal with over the net? Do you have any pics of your GTi?

Thanks again guys!
Dino :)
