Tacho & Gauge Set Up's
Hey guys,
Figured this would be the best place to put this thread, as I'm sure most of the racers on here have a decent Guages set up.
I'm basically appealing for people to post pics up of their Tacho/Gauge Set-ups, and any hints and handy tips for putting it all togther! Any brands
that people recommend/don't recommend and what not, and any good set up's people have seen over the years!
Cheers boys and girls!
Ollie

Depends what look you are going for Ollie.
If you want to keep things looking more standard, you woudl probably go VDO cockpit range. VDO have in my experiance always made quality gauges that
were good enough for VW, but I've not bought any and installed them for a very long time now. If I can find pics of my old gauge clusters I'll post
them, but it could be a while.
If you wanted to go more racer style you might lean toward Auto Meter gauges.
if you wanted to try and be a bit different you could go Dakota Digital, http://www.dakotadigital.com/
But there are plenty of choices now.

Are you after form over function, or both?

Cheers Cam!
Yeah I'm just looking for ideas at the moment I'm kind of leaning
toward the hanging gauges, as I'm not really that keen on slicing up my dash?

My boost and AFR gauges and home made shift light are mounted on a plate that is bolted to the windscreen vent flap on the A pillar..... Which I
like..... The Monster Tach is on the dash... Which I hate..... Don't really need the tach anyway so will prolly remove it.

VDOs do match in with the original speedo nicely, and you can hang them easily enough rather than fit them in the dash like I have.
And you can make them look pretty too.

Here ya go..... All very traditional I guess.... Nothing showy or unnecessary... But I still reckon the tacho has to go.

I like this idea... But it depends on if you want a speedo or not!
