i'll vouch for the toyotas reliability and performance
i used to drive a hiace LWB auto
the 2S in that i gave hell (company car LOL) and with 435,000kms on the clock just wouldnt die

i also gave hell to the 2T in my old TA22 celica and it still kept going with Low oil pressure, rattly tappets and a noisy cam chain

ex had a AE94 corolla with a 4AFE in it that was driven like it was stolen 24/7 and went for 80,000kms with no service
even with 315,000kms on the clock and oil leaking into the coolant it would just not give up

Toyota do make tough motors, but most of them are covered in polution gear, except for the really old pushrod stuff units from the early 70s. I'm guessing that except for the K series motors, there aren't many of those still floating around. Also I'm not interested in an unbreakable motor. If I was I'd stay with a stock 1600 single port. They go and go and go. What they don't do is produce any sort of real power. I'd want something that actually produced decent figures off the factory floor. That's where the Hemi really shines I spose.
