On my sons 1303 I ran the Mexican type seal along back edge of the body as well.

Got them off "Pudgy" for $30 complete with bases.
I like em as long as they survive the UV living outside
ANd no - they dont run LED's. But i might have a play
Still got the others to go back to.

All of the Oval Warriors like to make rude comments about elephant feet, but I don't mind them, and Marty's new bum looks OK to me . Those CSP LED ones that Colonel posted a bit further up are more
what I'd like, but I've got a lot of other things to work on before I throw a significant amount of Euros at buying a set.
Colonel, you are replacing your elephant feet with something earlier aren't you? I would have thought after already being rear-ended by the cops that
you'd want something bigger and brighter?

Well, If a cop can't drive properly, who will be able to?? thus.... Tombstones are on the list. Not too concerned about the lights currently though,
but if a set of late guards (73 onwards) came up for next to nothing, I'd go for it. Colonel is a bit of a rat car... but one day I hope its
orignal...ish.

Having said that, I only feel that I would like it to look originalish, is due to talking to Dave Carter - who thinks I should keep it looking
1303ish. The truth is, my car is at LEASSSSSSSSSST 5 years off looking as good as barry's or Dave's.
If it were me, I'd get the csp smoked one's, I just find their prices a bit up there, but the products look amazing.

New tailights are an improvement over the originals I reckon & heaps better than the clear bastards.
Love the design 90 rims on the blue bug as well. A set of them are still on my shopping list. Funny thing is I never really liked them on porsches.
But on a beetle yum yum.
Cheers

Dropped it off at SAS for a test on the dyno to see how the carbs went
Pretty happy with the whole set up
66 HP with the Dells compared to 50HP with the 34Pict
Still running a restrictive exhaust. An getting a custom made jobbie this year.
Reckon i will get to 70HP with a propper exhaust.
This has a mild cam and stock unported 040 heads
Seems a a bit lean on the idles, mains are perfect and a tad rich on the airs
My 1776 had 61 ponies with a similar set up - so pretty happy with this

Exhaust time
The near stock exhaust is comming off and Richard Holzl is making an exhaust for me
Start with one of these
Add a box of these
Then with a dummy motor and a dummy rear valance a lot of cutting, welding, measuring, Stella and Peroni's you slowly get to this stage
We finished the day here
Will do a trial fit next Saturday
Will be interesting to see what difference it makes.
Going to go back to SAS when it is on
Fully merged, equal length and tried to keep the same number of bends
The header will be ceramic coated when its done and a stainless steel in/out muffler will go on
This all lives ub under the body work with not much at all sticking out

That's a wild exhaust! Love the car, very nice. Some nice modifications you've been doing to this "stocker" too.
