Go silver, with the chrome it will give it a touch of class. My bother has a silver Mk1 Escort sprayed in audi silver and it looks hot!

Thanks for that T54! Just thought I'd let you know, you are the one that got me on this site. You probably dont remember, but I worked for the
Ferrari dealer and we spoke outside Yannis Yiros on Norwood parade about a year ago. You were telling me about your project and clued me in on this
site.....thanks mate, I have really enjoyed being on here. How is your project going mate?

HAHAHA...that is TOO funny Jason! My wife is tolerant of the Notch project, as long as I keep my excitement to a minimum (she gets sick of me talking
about it all the time!)

nice work on that Doc.....love the full length roll top! You cant beat a 3 in a bright colour with all the chrome, unless its satin black of course
eh Doc???
I have been trawling through The Samba Notch gallery....up to page 100, out of over 400!! That site is mental, seriously addictive stuff!
Trying to see what colour combinations work and what dont. Orange looks awesome on that square, but Ive seen some real bad Notch efforts in
orange.....
What to do?? Colour is a LONG way off, but I think its something that I need to plan early on in the build..... to make sure its a cohesive package.
I would rather have all parts planned ahead of schedule and have them all work together in one awesome package, rather than a lot of small ideas put
together on the fly throughout the build to make a mish mash of a ride that doesnt deliver the package I am dreaming of.
Just thinking out loud here, thanks for listening so to sum
up....its really messing with my head this colour choice thing!!!

Its the right thing to do.... Or, have one of each! I couldnt live without a wagon again, i hated all my sedans, couldnt stand the beetle, had to have
a wagon... and im so stoked it was a Dub Square! Now to find me a Bay Panel.... this could be expensive...

a friend of mine just bought a bay panel for a grand....running registered and in reasonable condition....I was spewing, he is not really even into
VW's!!!!!
my eldest son REALLY likes the idea of a square for his first car, so i might get my wish to have both in the driveway after all.

thats just not fair... If he wants to sell it, ill buy it... Would kill for another panel...
My first car was a square, was awesome, if i could find that one again id consider buying it back! So much better as first car's than anything else,
they arnt exactly powerful, so he cant get himself into to much trouble, they ooze cool, and have more style than anything else that his mates will
have... plus, he can dump it on its arse for free! Instant street cred!

Nice work Smiey....no posts for the whole year eh??
Slow progress boys unfortunately, I have basically worked right through the holiday break and what time I did have off was spent with family in
Mildura....4 hours away from my Notch
Families.....who would have em eh?
Anyway......I was missing working on my Notch so badly last weekend, I went outside when it was almost dark and started cleaning the inner guard on
the front passenger side.
Lo and behold, under all the crappy underseal and dirt is some lovely factory blue paint and minimal rust....good news!!! Sorry I didn't take a
picture at the time, but will try to get time on the weekend to take one and post it for you diehard Scarab's Notch followers!!
My wife actually said I was wasting my time rubbing back all the dirt....her words exactly were "Aren't you gonna take it back to bare metal
anyway?"......!!!!!! Have any of you guys ever had your wives actually ENCOURAGE you to take your project all the way?? I would have thought that
going back to a full bare metal rebuild would be something you'd keep from your wife for as long as possible.....so they don't get annoyed with the
amount of time and money you're spending on it! Man I love my wife!! Thanks Beck!
Anyway, hopefully more pics after the weekend guys,
Cheers for the interest though
