glad you enjoyed Johhny!!........not bad for a 1000kg sedan hey
it's a beast for sure.....kombi box, hmmmmmmm, not many gearboxes you can PUNCH back to first gear mid corner, boost up to 60km/h sideways on 10 inch
slicks then whack second without loosing the drift and contiue flat till it straightens up hey .......i know you cant disagree after this arvo .........how sweet is the sound of those straight cuts combined with smell of burning rubber!
ummm yeah it's a drivers car on Raleigh, out powering the track by shirt loads.......i saw 70mph on the speedo several times and that's with the
225/50/15's taking the accuracy back 10%.....can't wait for the fee flowing Wakefield.
yeah well Jak, was making 30psi all day........Jeff has said he has seen it on the guage before, today i had a few looks at it reading just
that!..........i too have been told the intercooler would be too small for that level boost, with it prolly producing near the same HP with much less
.........originally tuned to 20 psi, it would cut out if it overboosted, so Jeff had it re-programmed to accept more even tho it didn't often make
any overboost..........maybe with all the exhaust and intake improvements it is going to make it up high in the PSI regularly now..........maybe it
will go POP too
maybe a simple boost T manual control in the line will be enough to save a trip to the dyno or computer guru?
i'm going to look into the operation of the haltech waste gate solenoid a bit more too.......ideas on how to tell its working?
anyways Johnny i said it felt inconsistent on one particular corner and found the rear left lower shock bolt GONE when i got home. effectively also
disconecting the sway bar on that side as well. that and some issue with fuel flow out of the tank........maybe as simple as not enough fuel to fill
the in-tank surge bowl quick enough as it was getting low........or maybe some blockage there.
apart from that, motor, gearbox, cooling, handling and brakes STRONG

yeah, can't wait now!............
got the boost under control with a manual adjustment........slightly ahead of last year as we were just in undercoat at this point Radiator shroud is completely done and heaps of heat proofing at various
points of the car is now complete
......and welcome a new driver to the team who thought parting his car out would force an end to his racing days ........

So, we will have the pleasure of seeing this thing fly at Raleigh late July/early Aug :P?
I remember the incident vividly from the sideline, We glumped when we saw the leak and just stood silently when it all went to shiz. All that work and
hrs u put in catching alight. None the less u didn't give up, a thousand kudos for dusting yourself off and making it live again. What a champion
effort, would be an honor to see it speed through the tarmac again. Great ending to a tragic story, and a new beginning for some high speed fun hey

ah yeah thanx Chris, that's very kind, i don't know what i'll do if i have an event where this thing goes at the begining of the day AND the
end......it always seems worth the adventure tho
....hello Reubs, what you doing over here in non-VW conversions?
well this time last year we had just finished the blue paint in secrecy. This time around i thought i'd keep a little story of the preparation it
takes to make an event .........done it a few times now and
still can't believe what it takes
wrapping the third set of wheels for transit....blown tyres are enough to wreck a weekend so having a few brings some piece of mind, blown turbos
suck too, so i've packed a brand newie in the spares as well
crew was on duty again.....
"the mistress" got a wash and vacumn, Johnny's seat removed, re-aranged tank breather and is ready for the trailer........
..........just looking forward to a good weekend ahead now, catching up with a few friends and the road trip..........i hope one day in the not to
distant future JVL and Mr Torrens will be in attendance as well

What?
I have to stop replying to u JVL. I have to drop my IQ points so far to respond, that at this rate I'll soon be in double digits.
I'll end up with a pencil stuck to my forehead just to use the keyboard & all my solids will have to be liquified so that I suck them through a
straw.
If I listed my greatest acheivment as having my car in the Zoom yearly poster book, after spending over $200'000, I would take a photo of my head
& use it as the stupid smily icon in all my posts.
Daimo, really looking forward to this weekend. I have saved a pic of your slicks in the lounge room, next time my family is complaining about vw's,
I'm showing that to all!
Gold mate.
But then again, it makes sense, don't want to get the slicks dirty
