Country Buggy Speedo Cable

Hi All
As you will know the speedo cable listed for a Country Buggy is 12Y 957 001 which indicates it's one of those dreaded "CB only" parts. The procedure has been to get someone to make you a special one.
The one in my CB, with a broken core, had an outer casing 2500mm long. I've never been able to find a cable that long.
Recently I saw this one in CIP1 "C24-214-957-801-H - GERMAN QUALITY - 2520MM RHD (RIGHT HAND DRIVE ONLY) SPEEDOMETER CABLE 2510MM - BUS 68-79 - SOLD EACH".
I bought one and it has a casing 2500 long, same as the one I have. I haven't fitted it yet, and I'm not saying the one in my car was the original, although there's no reason to suspect it wasn't, I presume it once functioned at least.
Anyway, this information might be handy to add to the mix.

Let's know how long yours is...........
Cheers
Tony

I'll assume the cable is original as the car had seamless axle boots and other little things..Anyway cable snapped off just out of the stub axle that bit was 150mm,remaining bit 2300mm.Replaced with a brazillian 2450mm cable, these are the numbers off the new one.61-219 fania 211016.All seems good.
