EJ20 DOHC n/a Questions

Finally after 6 months of ringing around I have found a source for the OEM ECU, loom, fuse box/relays, AFM and air duct, O2 sensor, exhaust manifold and cat converter. I'm going up to Yandina tomorrow (Saturday) to see Andrew at Sunspares Subaru to pick it all up. They've quoted me $650 for all the bits.

So the questions are:
1. any markings or other identifiers on the ECU I should look out for to ensure it's the right one?
2. any other bits that I'll need
3. any other advice/suggestions

You need the coil Ignitor too,

a square box about 80x80x20 mm

very important,

and the instrument cluster if possible,
the speedo contains a vehicle speed sensor, which allows the computer to adjust it's fuel maps,

i will write down the serial numbers off my ecu and afm and call you with them this arvo/tonight, you home??

hey guys.
I was just wondering who you were going to get to do your electrics. I have been looking for an auto electrician to wire my buggy with the subi motor in it and no one seems interested in doing it.

mmm

Dan's mate did his and yeah it was pretty quick. Wes did his own and I dunno if I will or not yet. Depends on what deal I can coem up with.

I know the guy at K3 Auto Elects will do them. He does a lot of custom jobs.

Is the igniter the little black box shown in the upper left corner of the third picture here?

http://volksweb.relitech.com/subaru.htm

I hadn't heard anyone else mention that the speed sensor from the instrument cluster was required. I had looked at the wiring circuit schematic & didn't find it there either, but the service book for the Aussie SOHC version does mension it and the igniter box...hmm...

I can ask Carl (The guy who wired my ej up) if he's interested in doing some more if you like? He’s a neat freak and very reasonable... both rare commodities ;-) would recommend him 100%

Brad, have asked him about making a new loom, he's going to see how much info he can find on the motor first. Will let u know.

cheers
