Crewcab

Had hassles with my pics on the last thread so started over again!!
Rhys, Kai, Ash here`s the answers to your questions.........
I`m running 185/60/14`s on the front and 215/65/14`s on the back (it had the 215`s all round when I bought it, the steering was shocking, way too heavy).
I raised the front up a bit coz it was about 2 inches off the ground at the base of the beam!!, the anti-roll bar was also sitting on the floor. I`ve got around this by turning the stock anti-roll bar upside down and mounting it on the top of the suspension arm rather than the bottom. this tucks it up out of the way nicely and clears all the steering gear which was the main potential problem. Not sure if this is a bit of a no no but can`t see any problem with it and it seems to work fine (well I`ve obviously not killed myself or nothing!)
I made my own adjusters by the way. They are loosely based on the sway-away idea.
The 215`s are pretty hard to get off the back but all you need to do is have a suitable metal bar that you can put on the top of the spring plate and lever down on it on the bottom of the chassis rail. A bit of jiggery pokery and they come off. I`ll possibly get a 205/65 when the 215`s wear out although it looks FAT at the back at the moment.
Yeah, Kai, it handles fuckin great, like it`s on rails mate!! Ride is a bit choppy but who cares, it shakes the kids to sleep!
Anyway, not sure what happened to all my other pics but here`s some of how it looked and how it looks now.
Cheers
Gra.

said it before, and i'll say it again:

looks great mate!

i had 185/60s all round on my 73 bay, it was really really low at the front (actually failed it's m.o.t 'cos it was too low, no suspension movement at all, so i raised it an inch ;)) probably only about 2-3 inches between the beam and the floor, the back was really low too, handled great, the ride quality was ok too.

i didn't have an anti-roll bar, when the suspension is so low ya don't need one!

Yeah, my first Bug failed the MOT coz the tester couldn`t get the sliding jack on the hoist under the spare wheel well!!
Suppose you have to do these things though!.
Did contemplate leaving the front real low but still need to use it for taking stuff to the tip and that so need a bit of movement. Not good for the ball joints either!!
Got about 20mm between rear bump stop and suspension arm, I cut the bumpstops down to the last "doughnut" better thet than the arm hitting the chassis rail.

Hot diggity, I love the bay utes ... it looks very sweet mate :thumb

Though the avatar rims do look pretty good - when do they go on, or are they still being polished up ;)

Very, very sweet - have you done anything with the interior?? Any plans??

Congrats on an excellent piece of machinery :)
