news flash! best option seems to be
Pick a warm, sunny day, and get some black plastic. A cut up trash bag
will work fine.
Turn the car so the tinted window faces the sun. Spray an
ammonia-based cleaning solution onto the tinted side (inside) of the window, and lay a sheet of the plastic onto the tint, sticking it to the wet
window. Wait 20 minutes. The tint will peel right off. A razor blade will clean up the edges.
This works fine on the rear window, with the defroster strips, also.

I would not use a heat gun , shattered safety glass makes a mess, I would also use glad wrap instead of a sheet of plastic , the idea is to "seal"
the ammonia against the window tint, & you must be careful not to get the ammonia on plastic trim parts

Hi
I used a heat gun on mine no worries, just go easy and have your hand behind where your working, that way you will know if it gets to hot. The only
way I could get rid of the scum leftover was Promar dry car wash.

Good One...
I'll have to try that also...
I just used a few razor blades...
and methylated spirits to clean the glass..
plus everything else I could find...
The old stuff sticks pretty well...
Fingers were sore for a few hours...
