leaky boot ??
I have an oil leak developing where the rear axle boot is ?the oil is clear ..early 60s pan . is this easily fixable ? whats behind the boot any
way? oh God I hate that leak! can anyone inform me ?

I presume You are talking abouthe rear axle rubber boot that is leaking oil from Your gearbox...
You will have to check the oil in the gearbox and probably top it up...
You have to cut the old boot off and install a new one like in the pictures I have scanned....
These swing axle rubber boots are available from any VW aftermarket shop...

mmm ..new boots recently before i got the car ..a service recently with gearbox oil top up..so could over filling create a problem?? or could it
be a????ps nice pics thanks ..
