Yep, shows what I know. I know I can see is a very exspensive breakage and a cocky feroza driver (who doesn't seemed to have learnt his lesson).
Did you split ya lip on the steering wheel?

Spot on mate, soon as I broke contact with mother earth I backed of throttle big time then resumed once the suspension settled- my mate on the other
hand, in his excitment stayed on the loud pedal, and when the weight of his 4X4 come down on the front wheels, combined with the extra torque and
throttle, it ripped the drive shaft right out of the front diff peeling the casing open in many places. Some credit must go to the feroza, none of the
internals of the diff or shaft were damaged, just the casing and main bearing.

dude i am not being 'cocky', sorry if you took my comment the wrong way, i did put in a smiley that might of shown i was only stuffing around.
no i didnt hit the steering wheel or anything. though a little more expensive than i would of liked, the whole afternoon was all in good fun.
diahatsu parts are expensive yes, but it helps to work in the spare parts game. |

poor old sooby. even with 14" wheels and 4" lift and only pitted against a ferosa it would have never had a chance. good thing the ferosa driver
hit it too hard and broke it so the sooby driver could brag about having to tow a diatsu home.
looks in pretty good condition too.

Mate the scoobie is pretty smick in the sand, low weight, LSD front end and great clearance (I can crawl under it!) the only real let down is the
1800cc motor, its got bugger all torque, absolutly no get up and go. The stock ea81 either needs a turbo or a swap for a newer liberty donk (&
gearbox- 5th gear would be the bonus)
...... but all in all I would def own one - its so similar to a vw, close your eyes and it feels like a beetle when driven.

we cable tied the diff housing and front tail shaft up and i drove it ~50k's home. i always keep a bag of cable ties in the rear door pocket. one
of the best inventions out there.
i went down to the shed tonight and pulled the front diff out. heres a pic of the broken diff housing.
i'll remove the drive shafts and drive it 2wd for a while. |

if daihatsu ever wants a sectioned feroza diff for a motorshow you make a mint!
...otherwise, it's just a very and large and expensive paperweight.
