turning left after lowering bj bug

mate of mine (who doesn't have a computer) has just finished putting a lowered beam in his 69 BJ bug and put a new steering box and a few other replacement bits and pieces in. now he finds that when turning left, full lock is only between 1 and 1.5 turns, where as turning right is the same as it used to be.

the tires aren't scrubbing or anything. can anyone tell me what he might have done wrong?nn[ Edited on 2-8-2005 by cray ]

BJ front ends have a zero stop adjuster as I understand it. could be set up with not enough movement on that side. I think the adjustable stops are on the steering box.
