just bought a 1973 square back
I bought it on thursday night from Jas up in wentworth falls.
Its my first VW but Dad has had bugs for as long as i can remember.
Anyway.
Its a 1973 type 3 Square back.
Lowered and tuned sports suspension
rims have been widened.
clean interior.
tinted windows.
1835cc engine.
Twin webbers
extractors.
It has a little surface rust but that will be fixed soon.
Also, a new set of rubbers will also go in soon.
Overall, I think it will be a good, long term project/ daily driver and an excelent choice for my first VW.
I'll post up my Dad's 1973 L Bug Convertable Soon

Be interested to know if you suffer any of the overheating problems which are reputed to occur in type 3's with larger than stock engines. Any more
details on the suspension set up?
Ain't nothin' like the wind in your hair.

Go the late square!!!! Think i know the car you have , great car ! The overheating thing is the t3 motor is hard to tap for an external oil cooler.
See how you go , should be okay.
Here's what happens to a late model squareback!
Good luck , go the squares!!!!

To answer all those questions that have been accumulating!
Firstly. I havent had any overheating problems. But i haven't really been driving it hard or for long distances yet.
Probably just have to wait and see.
Also. It already has an external oil cooler conected up and its working well
Secondly. The car has a set of front and back anti roll bars as well as a complete set of after market Gas shocks. Makes driving around out my way a
bit noisy. Very sturdy car iwhen cornering though. Drives like its on rails.
Here's a picture of me being a little artsy the other day.
