Cleaniing Glass

Scored a set of pop outs for the 1303 today.

One of the windows is dirty.

Nah.... i mean REAL DIRTY......

I have cleaned it with a razor blade with a coulpe mm of metho swishing round. I have 98% of the gunk off.

Its just the outside glass sort of has a permanent "turtle shell" that is only visable in reflective light.

Any ideas how to finish the cleaning properly??

There is a product by Auto Glym called glass polish, about $13 a bottle. It might be worth giving it a try, it's a bloody good glass cleaner even if it doesn't fix your problem.

Maybe good ol' white vinegar? Is great for cleaning glass, not sure if it'll remove scum.

Well it has been pouring ALL day - so i have been playing.

Been giving them a good polish with Auto Sol and tooth paste and metho.

Pretty happy.
One window still has slight marks, but i am being REALLY picky

The wife is making me put them away till Christmas now - but at least they are clean enough to put under the tree.

Thanks for the tips

yep, i work with glass as in stained glass lamps and windows and when it comes to cleaning up the finished product, nothing beats the 000 steel wool..
even the old steelo with the suds will do the trick..
happy scrubbing.. :thumb
btw dont at all use a green scrourer as it scratches and will leave permanent marks.. :o
