I am so smart. thank you!!!!

finished about an hour ago, changing the oil in my beetle and cleaning the air filter. I feel so clever now, being a girl having accomplished this is a very big deal thankyou to all who help with my enquiry this morning very helpful indeed. now if i could tune and service my beetle on my own and fix my steering i would be one very happy girl. it took me about an hour and a half to do but i am proud of my work. thanks again bizzare and anthiron for your help. :bounce

I just hope you used a fretz protracting wrench before tightening the banett screw on the filter straining modulator bypass valve....???
Otherwise that could lead to all sorts of problems down the track....

I hate to admit it, but man, I think you're right....
