Removing window winders and the other handle from the doors of early bugs?

How do you do it?

I see that there is a pin through the base, is it a case of knocking that through to get the handle off?

I cant see any other screws or fasteners.

Cheers!

Yep, you have to push the door card in, then use a thin punch to poke out the pin that goes through the handle's shaft. Then it will pop off. You almost need three hands though, plus someone to hold the door so you can push against it! Its possible to do by yourself though, I've had to do it many times.

Best of luck.
Alan

Are you able to use the same pin again to put it all back together again?

Thanks Al.

Hi

You can use the same pin again, if you can find it, they are tiny and tend to get lost easily.
