'73 dashboard fitting a '75 model

:sandrine
Hi
Would someone know if a '73 beetle dashboard fit straight in to a '75 model ?
Want to replace put don't know weather it would fit correctly.
Anyone done this?
Judy :)

from memory 73 has some slight differences from the 74, 75. Mostly vent stuff. It will work but there may be a few things that need adapting.

i have had 2 x 74 and a 75
my mate has a 73

yes the glove box is different but that is all

If you have a "complete" dash is will not be a problem

the 74 on squeeze type latches must be soemthing of a rareity these days
i broke mine a few years ago and couldnt get one anywhere
the only one i could get new was over $80
i got one out of a golf at the wreckers its the same overall just shorter had to grind down the striker plate to make it latch

Hi

The panel in front of the dash where the defroster outlet is a bit different between the early and late. The early one has grilles cut in the metal panel, the later ones have plastic outlets.
