Empi 8's

So... what colour should I paint my Empi 8's?

The rim part will be kept polished and I'm not about to polish the spokes. Should I keep them black (matte or gloss?) or go for a colour?

But that would cost me money.... :P

Besides, I think they'd look better painted... would suit Retro better.

I'm testing different finishes on mine atm. First I full-polished the rims and rough-polished (only to 1200 wet) the centres of two of the empis. Took some time, but I love it! Gives that full retro 60's alloy race wheel look.

Then I primed and painted the other two centres with 'chrome' rattle cans. Not good! Looks too modern.

Next I'm doing the painted centres in gunmetal metallic grey. This will be to match the stripes planned for the car. If they look good, then all four will get this treatment.

A POSSE AD ESSE.

I live in my own little world, but it's okay, they know me here.

I'm not about to do it myself Adam, because:
a) I don't really have the time.
b) I can't really be bothered.

:P

Where does it say about a Notch?

The Empi 8s are going to be on my Fasty:

(sorry photo isn't very good... will get better ones soon)

So far I'm thinking of keeping the middle of the Empi 8's black (either matte or gloss, probably gloss) with polished edges...

... or have the centre a medium-dark silver with polished edges.

We posted at the same time Christofu! :P

You think a matte paint? Retro will end up having nice shiny paint though.... won't matte look funny?

sorry lol - i meant fasty but was thinking about a notch at the time lol

if you;re sticking with the 8s i think black with polished/chromed outers will look nice - grey inners also
otherwise as previously mentioned go chromed/polished

given the car is white? is a bit of a dodge on lighting...

otherwise a black set of brms would be trick

The car is deceiving... sometimes it looks dove grey, but it's actually a very pale blue. I took the above photo after sunset.... will get a better photo when he comes back from mechanic at the end of the week.
