type1 and type3 transaxle
hi. i have a 1969 beetle which i brok the trans for. can i sawp it with a 1969 trans? are they the same?

if it's a proper type three box, it wont have the holes drilled at the bottom of the bell housing for the type 1 mounts.
and the gear selector rod at the nose has the valley for the grub screw on the bottom, rather than the top where it needs to be for the
beetle........
but yes, if they're both i.r.s they can be exchanged
