whats this buggy worth?
Hi
im looking at buying my first buggy, i wanted to check to see what it is worth.
- orgional body repsrayed, and in good condition
- 1600 standard engine
- all new wiring, brakes etc
- rear tyres are a bit worn and will need replacing in the next 6 - 12mths
- inside is clean but origional
it will have a new roll bar and soft top put on and will come in at around $14k. i cant post pics, but if you can think of a restored not a of a done
up buggy, this is effectively what it is.

If it's in good condition (and regoed) it will be worth that kind of money for sure.
There is a Manx on Ebay at the moment which is over $20K and has bids on it.

mate unless you need it NOW id definatley wait the best advice i can give you is try to go to a couple of meets/shows befriend a buggy person (not
that hard and 99.9% great ppl) have them help you look for and at prospective buggies for 14g's id want an excellent buggy although it is true its
easy to spend that n lots more doing your own there are always great buys that come along esp in winter
be clear about what you want and dont rush into anything
lastly ppl like custom vee dub in bris do pre purchase inspections and im sure you can find someone (a vw shop) near you that would do this for you
if the seller is genuine they should be happy for you to have this done
best of luck

Don't jump in too quick, have a look around and evaluate the car. I sold a buggy last year - registered, OK paint, great engine, new tyres, full
engineering paperwork, all new wiring, new cagework, etc (no top, but was quoted $1000 for a full top), and it sold for $6K. I would find it hard
paying $14K unless it was in either awesome condition (almost perfect) or it had a lot of extras (eg off-road stuff). Good luck.

the guy with the $20k manx is dreaming. I'd say $8 or 10k if it's very special. $14k for that is a rip off. I'd sell you mine for $14k and it's a
heap better than that.

A friend here in adelaide is building a few at the moment and would most likely build you one for that much straight out the mold.
I agree with the above. That seems like a reasonable amount of money from the ones I have seen sold and you should look around a bit before diving.
