If the problem is with seating the clips your not alone. One of the worst jobs with door resto's. The clips have a tendency to snap off quite easily.
What exactly is the problem?

i find use surgical tweezers the best to get the clips to line up with the holes b4 applying pressure to get the into the hole
there thin and can get to the clips from the underside

Window Scrappers
Hi all,
I have a 1970 beetle, and I’m replacing the interior and exterior window scrappers. I managed to get the old ones out, however and can’t get the
new ones in. I was wondering if anyone has instructions or knows how to do it?? Would be greatly appreciated.
Dilemma.

did you just get the rubber or the complete thing including the chrome surround ?
The job will require all glass to be out, including the 1/4 vents.
I found the new clips on the replacement parts to be slightly bigger and more fragile.
If any of your old clips survived, i suggest you re-use them - they seem to pop in better.

I ended up gluing My inner and outer scrapers in...
Contact cement on both pieces - let dry and push together - You'll nevre get them off.. lol

PS: Still the worst job to do on a beetle... lol LEE

Yeah Lee, I glued mine on with Sikaflex. Only takes one clip to go pear shaped and your stuffed.

I just bought a set for myself today as I need it done as well.
What's the best way to get the top part of the chrome strip out from behind the channel at the top of the window? And also down the side. I was told
to pull the channel out but it seems rather fragile and looks like it will break with any decent amount of pulling. I've already snapped off a couple
of small pieces by trying to pull it out. I think I might just get some new ones of those too so I can just yank out the old ones. They're pretty
ratty lookin anyway so I'd say it might be a better idea. Was told they're about $30 for both windows so that doesn't seem too bad to me.
I really wish I didn't need to do this! But then I spose that's the only major work the car needs at the moment.
