tinted windows
Hi there,
I was thinking about getting the windows in my squareback tinted and I was just wondering, are there any things I should look out for? I've seen a
few tinted windows before that end up looking pretty average (with bubbles etc.) is it something that I should just forget about?
Thanks
Pete

If you get a professional to do it, you should be given a warranty
The ones that you see with the 'bubbles' in them are kits that can be bought from auto shops, and are generally not the greatest quality. On top of
being installed by people who haven't read the intructions properly
Get a few quotes too, the price might vary alot from place to place.

Hi Pete
I've had every car tinted since 1980 and never had any problems...
as said, they usually come with a warranty...
a long warranty....
I've never seen so many cars with the tinting bubbled...
You can buy the metallic tint as used by most professionals on ebay...
I've also had success with the DIY tint sold in auto shops...
Doing flat glass is easy... so long as You can get the bubbles out... lol
but curved glass is a no no.... lol
I did My beetle a few years ago, but took My rear window to a professional to do.... charged $100 which was a rip off... I wonder what they would
have charged if I left the window in the car....
I put some very thin tint on a few windows of My house about 20 years ago and its still there... auto stuff...
Tint is usually much thicker these days...
cheers
LEE

Hey, that doesn't sound too bad thanks.
I think I'll get someone to do it though, my DIY attempts lately have been pretty disappointing.
